She is here

Friday, March 26 at 10:51 p.m. a beautiful little peanut was born! Welcome Jayla Ciana! She is 5 pounds, 15 ounces and 18 long. She is tiny but just adorable. Here she is:

My sister had a c-section and I just got a text from here saying--We are Home! She had a quick recovery and is feeling as good as can be expected. Baby is healthy and now they are home...let the fun begin!

On another note, because we have a huge family, we were pretty much all at the hospital at the same time on Saturday and the kids took turns holding B in the waiting room and then going into the room to hold Jayla. Here is a little picture of B after a bottle. We call it "milk drunk"! He looks so long in this picture and of course he looks so big compared to little Jayla.

She will be here soon!

My sister is getting induced tomorrow...she goes in this evening to start the process. I am not sure what that entails but I do know that there will be a baby girl joining the family soon! We are so excited to meet her. We don't know the name, so it will be fun to hear what they have picked out for this precious little one!

I can't wait to hold her and love her and it will be the beginning of a life long friendship for B and new baby girl. I feel so blessed to be able to have them grow up together, to be friends and I am sure at some point enemies (you know someday B will think girls have cooties and she will think boys are gross).

Please Lord, give Megan the courage and strength to deliver our little niece and we pray she is happy and healthy and give Antwain the strength to be a good and patient coach!
We love you guys and can't wait to meet the new addition!

First Cold=No sleep for Momma

B has his first cold and I feel so helpless. We have spent that last two nights in the recliner while he sleeps on me. I am sure I am breaking every rule but I don't care. He is congested and just not comfortable. It breaks my heart! I hope this cold leaves soon--we want our smiling, cooing and happy little guy back!

2 Months and Happy St. Paddy's Day

Mr. B is the light of our lives. He is such a charmer and is growing like a weed. We went to the doctor today and he got 3 shots and an oral "shot" of medicine. He cried and it broke our hearts--but he only cried for less than 30 seconds and then he stopped. We have a brave and tough little guy on our hands.

At two months he is smiling--yes, his dad got the first smile but I got the next smile (and yes, they are non-gas related). There is nothing better than waking him up in the morning to get ready for the day and seeing him wake up, stretch and then smile. He hates waking up, in fact he is like his daddy and sometimes just refuses to get moving.

He is moving his legs and arms like crazy, he is "talking" and telling us stories, some very sad and some not so sad. He loves the ceiling fan in our room and watches it as we both get ready for work and we sing and talk. We like to tell him to "Stretch and Grow"in the morning when he is waking up...and he indeed is doing that. Here are the 2 month stats:

Weight: 13.14lbs - He's in the 95th percentile
Height: 24.25 inches long - He's in the 90th percentile
Head: 40 centimeters - He's in the 50th percentile

He likes bath time but hates getting dressed after wards. He is eating 4 ounces consistently and we are trying to move him to 5 ounces so we can sleep a little more at night.

It is safe to say that we are in love with this little guy, with our son. He has brought so much joy to our lives and I sometimes have to pinch myself to see that yes...we are a family!

Maggie May

Today Cullen had a tough morning drop off. He didn't have B--he had to take our cat Maggie May into the vet to have her front fang pulled. While that sounds silly (and I know it does sound silly) it makes me sad for her. She has to be put under and I always worry about that. Cullen said she howled the entire way to the Vet and then looked at him with a "how can you do this to me" face. She is our mama cat and protector of B, the cat that snuggles with us and the one that needs so much attention and we just love her.

Tomorrow is B's 2 month doctor appointment where he will get his shots...ugh. Another sad day. So tonight when we pick up Maggie, we will snuggle her and tomorrow we will snuggle B after his shots. And in the meantime we will have to convince Rosco that Maggie has been our cat, she isn't a stranger and he doesn't have to hiss at her every time she walks by him.

I will update you with B's stats tomorrow...he is getting so big! Here is a cute little picture of him. I love his face--kind of looks like he has a little attitude :)

The Man, The Myth, The Legend.....B!

Here are some recent photos of B. He is changing all the time. I am also posting his one month picture...even though he will be 2 months very soon, I guess it is better late than never :)

Amazed

I am truly amazed at the outpouring of love and support we have received and continue to receive since the adoption of B. We have received countless emails, phone calls and gifts. We have received more packages addressed to B then we have ever received as a couple or individually! We were discussing it this weekend---that we feel blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives and it is also a good reminder to set out to be better friends to those around us. We haven't been good about sending cards, sending gifts, calling and sending emails. We are going to try to be better about it--because for every card, email, gift or call we received we rejoiced in the plan that God had for us, the plan that was perfect and had perfect timing.

Truly 4 years ago--WE weren't ready. We were in jobs that required much--and we wouldn't have been good parents. We needed to get our relationship back on track--fertility treatments can be a real stress on the marriage. Cullen's parents were 45 minutes away (now they are 5 minutes away), my sister is due in 3 weeks and now our babies can grow up together and the list goes on. We are truly amazed!!

Back to the Grind

Today is the first day we are all back to work and B is at "daycare"....which today is his grandma and grandpa's house. Cullen called once and I have called once to check in. Of course he is doing just fine and being a "gentleman" as grandma says. I have been mentally preparing myself for this day--and I am proud to say--I did ok this morning. Only a few tears in the car--I mean seriously, he is with people we know and love and he is in great hands. We are blessed to have the arrangements that we have.

This weekend we pretty much finished his room, I will post pictures soon. It turned out great and Cullen did a great job!

B is officially 6 weeks old--where does the time go? Next thing ya know, we will be shipping him off to college. In the wee hours of the morning as I am holding him, begging him to burp, I often remember that it goes by fast and to enjoy every moment! We are doing just that--enjoying every moment.
